From Camp Ovens to Connectivity: How Outback Comms Kept ACOF Connected!
8,000 festival entries. Almost 1,200 camping bookings. Four Grab & Go units. Zero reported dropouts.
When thousands of Aussies come together for a weekend of camp oven cooking, entertainment and good old-fashioned country fun, reliable internet might not be the first thing that comes to mind.
But behind the scenes, keeping everyone connected is a pretty big job!
On 3–4 October 2026, Outback Comms proudly sponsored the Australian Camp Oven Festival (ACOF) in Millmerran, Queensland, supplying four of our portable Starlink Mini Grab & Go units to help keep the festival running smoothly.
And what a weekend it was!
Four Units. One Big Weekend.
With thousands of visitors arriving across the weekend, reliable connectivity was essential for ticket scanning, payments and festival operations.
Our four Grab & Go units were put straight to work:
-
Festival Office: Keeping organisers connected.
-
Entry Gates: Supporting ticket scanning and smooth entry.
-
Drovers Tucker Box & Merchandise: Keeping electronic payments flowing.
-
On the Move: Providing portable connectivity for workshops, dinners and other festival activities.
The best part? Each area could operate independently, without relying on one central internet connection.
No Dropouts. No Delays. No Worries!
We love hearing how our products perform in real-world conditions, and the feedback from Taylah Willett, ACOF Administration Coordinator, certainly put a smile on our faces!
"We didn't experience a single dropout or any slowing down throughout the entire festival."
And when it came to setup?
"With the press of one button, the units were up and running. No complicated setup or fuss."
No climbing onto buildings to mount equipment. No complicated installations. Just practical, portable connectivity wherever it was needed.
For a busy regional event, that flexibility made all the difference.
Built for Business. Ready for Adventure.
While our Grab & Go units were busy keeping ACOF connected, their versatility extends well beyond festival grounds.
For businesses: Think remote worksites, regional events, mobile EFTPOS, agriculture, mining operations and temporary offices. Reliable connectivity where traditional infrastructure isn't always available.
For everyday adventurers: Think camping trips, caravanning, off-grid getaways and weekends away from mobile reception. A portable Starlink Mini power solution that lets you stay connected without permanently mounting equipment to your vehicle.
Whether you're running a large-scale event or heading bush for the weekend, the goal is the same — simple, reliable connectivity without the hassle.
Don't Just Take Our Word for It!
When asked if she'd recommend Outback Comms to other event organisers, Taylah's response said it all:
"Without hesitation! For an event of our size, reliable internet is absolutely essential, and the Grab & Go units exceeded our expectations."
And it wasn't just the products that received a glowing review.
"The units performed brilliantly, and the service was just as impressive. We genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience!"
That's what we're all about at Outback Comms — practical solutions, quality products and good old-fashioned customer service.
Proudly Supporting Regional Australia
A massive thank you to Taylah and the entire ACOF team for having us on board! It was fantastic to support such an iconic Australian event, with Nic and Jason enjoying the festival and meeting plenty of fellow Aussies along the way.
We're especially thrilled that the organisers would love to have our Grab & Go units back for ACOF 2028!
From festival gates to remote campsites, we're helping Aussies stay connected wherever life takes them.
